TRANSFER WATER USING SPONGE

Some fun and educational activities (step towards practical life skills) can be done at home by anyone, without any pre-planning.
Water is a perfect sensory tool. It engages touch ( temperature of the water and wetness) and sound/hearing ( the sound of pouring).
Sponge Activity: The idea is to transfer the water back and forth between the two containers.Using sponge helps in development of both fine motor skills (develop the muscles used for writing) and gross motor skills (coordination). You can set this activity on a table using a tray and two similar containers, along with a smaller sponge. (a small cloth to wipe the water that spills out)
Let the child observe the sponge, let the child first explore. Then slowly you can talk about how the sponge soaks in all the water from the bowl, then how all the water comes out on squeezing it back into another bowl.
What you need ? • Two containers (one with water, another one empty) • sponge
